Jack Stoddard
Jack C Stoddard Jr joined the Army at the age of seventeen and served twenty-two years of service before his retirement in 1985. Being an Army brat he spent most of his early childhood following his Dad, Major Jack Stoddard from base to base around the United States and also to Guam and Italy.
His early military career started out at Fort Knox, Kentucky as an Armored Tank Crewman, 11E10. He served as a Tank Commander while in Vietnam with M Company of the 11th ACR and during his second tour with B Company 1/77th Armored Bn. 5th Infantry Div. His MOS was changed briefly to 11B40 Infantry Soldier when he volunteered for the Aero Rifle Platoon during his 18 months with the 11th ACR Blackhorse. He retired as a Chief Warrant Officer at Fort Hood, Texas.
Jack started writing in 1999 after him and his wife, Sue returning home from watching the movie Platoon and telling his wife that wasn’t the way the Vietnam War was and that he wanted to tell it like is really was and so he did.
He has written several military books his first being, “What Are They Going to Do, Send Me to Vietnam?” and his last was “Old Soldier” his autobiography. He now resides with his wife Sue and his two sons Chris and Billy in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Edward M. Cook
Edward M. Cook enlisted in the Army after graduating from high school in 1967. He served in the 82nd Airborne Division before going to Vietnam in early 1969 at the age of 19 where he served proudly with the Aero-Rifle-Platoon. He is retired and lives with his wife Karen in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
